The Day After......

This is my house. This is the day after the move. Need I say more?

The move actually went far better then I could have ever hoped for! We had tons of men to help, freeing me up to take care of my son, and "try" to give directions, which after a while was actually quite useless...I didn't have time to label anything, and so I just stuck things where I thought they should go....Let's just say...Jeremy's got more stuff then anyone else in the house....so I am pretty sure that most of it isn't his...but I will have to wait till it is all cleaned up to figure out who's stuff is in there...LOL!

We also had tons of help to clean the house we moved out of which meant that we were able to get them both done the same day instead of having to do all the cleaning the day after. Today I will have to go over and clean out the freezer, and clean up the laundry room. Kendal will have to install another lock...and Monday I will have to go let the carpet cleaners in, but other then that...we are done with the old house. Then it is just the unpacking here....

I am not going to church today....First of all, I can't find any clean clothes for either Jeremy or myself...nor any silver wear...or his diaper bag...you get the idea....I have however managed to make the living room fairly livable....

The move itself was a little hard on Jeremy....I brought him over here the other day, and turned on his lullaby CD hoping to help him adjust to the idea of a new house? and the poor little guy looked at the CD player, the bottom lip went out and he burst into tears! Who knows what he was thinking....He was very sad when we moved our stuff out of the other house, and he looked very confused at seeing our stuff in this house, however, by last night...he actually giggled when we put him into his car seat and left the old house...and that is something...he hates his car seat...When we got here and he saw our couches and his piano...he smiled and then he played quite happily for about an hour and was in a better mood then I have seen him in for days...so maybe he has figured out what is going on.....

Now back to unpacking.....

Pre -Moving Day!

Today is pre-moving day....which means that anything I didn't get done the rest of the week, will have to be done today....I have to clean the oven (yuck), the fridge (double yuck) and pack up all the little odds and ends which I was unable to pack yesterday for one reason or another...including Jeremy's room. (We left it up till last so I would be able to let at least one member of the family sleep in relative comfort-and after all his comfort does mean my comfort...) I will be making some trips to the house with things that are either very breakable, or need to be found right away...I do have Bree's help, so that will be good...she took this week off while she was in between schools...
Worst of all...I will be losing my internet (not that!) and my tv...any second as a matter of fact...
so my house will be VERY quiet today....not that it matters, as I am sure that I won't be able to have time to surf the web anyways......so I leave you with this video....I hope it gives you a good laugh!

This is my life.....

OMG! JEREMY STOOD UP! ...and other daily trivea!

Jeremy is 8.5 months old. He doesn't crawl....has just started to pull himself around...Can't pull himself into a sitting position.....BUT apparently....little Jeremy CAN stand up....It actually has happened 4 times now in the last week...I looked away for a minute, and when I turned back to him, the little monkey had pulled himself up on his chair! - So much for developmentally slow...We'll show them pediatricians won't we Jeremy!

The other thing he did this week which turned my head was kind of funny...He is starting to parrot words and sounds.....so I am in the kitchen this week, and he is in the living room playing with his piano, which makes animal noises....and I hear a quacking sound....Jeremy was trying to quack like the duck on his piano! LOL! The other piano says the colors when you press the keys, and on two different occasions he mimicked the word. He said blue to Kendal and the next day red to Bree.....

OK. enough bragging about my son for today..

The next three days are going to be a little on the rough side....I didn't get enough of the kitchen packed yesterday, so I am going to have to finish that today, and get the oven cleaned....wash the cupboards...that kind of fun stuff....I am also going to have to go down town and do move related business...Tomorrow I have to pack up Jeremy's room (which means sleeping with him for the night...not fun when your nursing because the little guy thinks it is a free for all......) and we actually take posession of the house, so I will have to be there for ADT to hook up our alarm, move some breakables, and go for a physical?? Now WHY did I book that for such a busy week? and of course Sat. is actually moving day....enough said....

Moosejaws Tea Room....and other less classy subjects....

After we took Jer to the park, Kendal and I went on a tour of that restauraunt I posted about earlier...but what I failed to mention, is that neither one of us woke up feeling very well that morning. We were determined to stay and take advantage of our rare days off...but uh...Kendal didn't quite make it....We were driving down main street, when I saw a wasp in the back seat next to Jeremy. Needless to say, I very quickly pulled over to the nearest sidewalk and dragged out Jeremy's car seat onto the sidewalk. Kendal killed the offending wasp, and then I put Jeremy back in the car. I turned around to talk to Kendal and he was gone! A few minutes later he came back looking really sheepish...He was sick all over the wheels of some guys REALLY exspensive nice truck....LOL! um...OOPS!

Later when he was feeling better we went to a Tea Room-The Cranberry Rose- which had been recommended by several people we know. It was pretty nice. There was a boutique upstairs, and the gift shop and tea room were below. We didn't look around the yard much, but it did look pretty nice. Jeremy liked it, but I am not completly sure it was a "kid" friendly place...That being said, I would like to bring my daughter Brandy there sometime. I think she would enjoy the experience.

After the tea room, we went and hung out at a mall for a while and then went back to Regina...Good thing. We both ended up really sick for the rest of the night.....What were we thinking of trying to take a break? Sheesh...

More Park Fun

The Next Day...

The next morning, we took Jeremy down to a park by the river, so that he could have fun doing something other then drag around "mom and dad" places....

Wakamow Heights!

We stayed the night at Wakamow Heights bed and breakfast...We were taking a bit of a chance staying there, as we had never even seen it before, but Captain Jack recommended it, so what the heck...I was a little scared though when we drove up. The house is a hundred years old, and on the outside it looks it. In fact, I was pretty sure that we had the wrong place....I didn't want to go in, but we were already registered....Once we went in though, it was really nice...and in their defense, apparently, they are doing renos....so next year, it shouldn't even look like the same place on the outside....
Here is a link to Wakamow Heights
We stayed in the executive suite., which was pretty nice, but we were actually supposed to be staying in the room with the jacuzzi, but they messed up....that upset me a little...Otherwise though we had a very nice visit.

A dinner Out!

After we were done with the boat ride, we decided we wanted to go out somewhere nice for dinner...We tried asking a couple of people where a nice place to go for dinner was in Moosejaw, and were a little surprised with the responses...Someone actually suggested Bonanza....WoW!

We finally decided on a resturaunt called Hopkins...and I would highly recommend it to everyone if you ever go through Moosejaw...First off, it is gorgeous...it was built in 1905, and is decorated in a very Victorian style. Their food is also amazing, and very well priced for such a nice restauraunt. The service was also amazing...We got better service then a person normally gets now a days...but when Jeremy started fussing and the waitress offered to walk him, my jaw almost hit the ground!

It also has atmosphere.....
It is reported to be haunted by the late owner of the house...a woman....and everyone who works there swears they have heard or seen things....They were actually featured on creepy Canada! They actually offer a tour. Kendal and I went back the following day to see what it is all about...I don't know about being haunted, but the decor is wonderful, and they have one of those pianos that plays itself...very cool.

Here is a link to the restauraunt...

Would you like gravy on that, hon? From The Minot (N.D.) Daily News:

Glady Pierce has added history, ambiance and the paranormal to attract visitors to what has become one of the most successful restaurants in Saskatchewan.

Pierce, the owner of the Hopkins Dining Parlour in downtown Moose Jaw since 1978, was recently featured on national television, not about the food or the history of the building, but about a ghost that allegedly continues to roam throughout the three-story mansion.
Pierce and her Victorian restaurant were recently featured on the CTV prime-time show “Creepy Canada,” which presents episodes of the paranormal. The segment aired during the 2003-2004 season, but Pierce keeps a video of it on site and shows it to visitors in the lounge.

According to employees who work for Pierce, the Hopkins house is haunted by the ghost of Minnie Hopkins. She was the wife of territorial homesteader Edward Hopkins, who built the structure in 1905, the same year that Saskatchewan became a province.

Make your reservations early. The dinners are to die for.

Our Anniversary!

Our Anniversary was actually on Aug 10th, but because of Kendal's work we were unable to do anything for it until the end of August....but that is better then what happened last year when Kendal's holidays were cancelled....I was really upset. It was our tenth anniversary, and we wanted to do something special. However, we tried to make up for it a little this year, by taking a couple of days by ourselves....or almost by ourselves....and going to Moosejaw for a couple of days. It was really nice...We took off about 1 in the afternoon on the Monday and hung out in the great big city of Moosejaw for a couple of hours...went for coffee and shopping...and then towards dusk, Kendal and I went on an evening sunset boat ride. It is offered by Captain Jacks Riverboat tours and this was actually our second time on it. It is about one hour long...The first time we brought our youngest daughter for the ride...but figured maybe it would be more romantic if we left Bree at home this time....We did have to bring Jeremy along..but that is ok, as he doesn't talk yet anyways....

Talon

Watch Talon as he falls head first in the toybox and then pretends it is what he meant to do!

Everything as back to normal as it gets....

Well, aside from the normal stresses of moving I think we now have both the phone and car thing under control. The origional problem with the car appeared to be a water pump, and the second car problem was the tow truck drivers fault. He tore a piece off of our car, but GM took care of both of them for free! The second one wasn't a warranty issure, so they really didn't have too. We have been very happy with their level of service, and will probably deal with them again in the future.....(we need a van...so I don't think it will be too far in the future....)

My new phone is pretty cool. It is a Sony Erickson Z550a. It is good enough for what I need....I have voice activated calling, so I am having fun with my new toy. It also has a radio and an MPV player ( which I can't use yet, because I need to purchase a memory stick...so I don't know that I will bother.)

Today's goal is to do more packing (of course) at least as much as Jeremy is in the mood to let me do...I also have to register Bree in her new school. She has decided to go to Thom instead of Winston Knoll....I have concerns about that, and I am also dissapointed because I think Winston Knoll would have been a good school for her, but it will be easier for us to have both girls in one school. Ultimately it was her decision to make....
I also have to get rid of all my cans, and paint a wall going downstairs. ( I think I will wait to do that till Jeremy gos to bed tonight though, so I don't make him high on paint fumes....)

Living in clutter....not fun.

And it continues....

Soooooo...we got our car back yesterday afternoon.....and it wasn't as bad as it appeared at first glance....It turned out to be a water pump....with fluid similar in color to transmission fluid....Who knew? It was also covered by warranty....which of course is always good...UNTIL....we were driving the car again last night...and all of a sudden we start to hear noises....It kind of sounds like air running through the engine...and we are also hearing a grinding kind of noise...We stopped the car twice and tried to figure out what was the problem...but didn't see anything...until the last time we stopped...and there was some black thing hanging off of our car.....no idea what it is...but I am sure it doesn't belong there...sooooo Kendal talks to his parents to see if we can use their car...(I am supposed to be at a meeting, and by now Kendal is late for his second job....) and I drive the car very carefully BACK to Pontiac and park....Did I mention that the ENTIRE time my normally happy cheerful sun was testing his lungs to see how well they work? Finally Kendal shows up and I drive him to work, and then go to my meeting (45 minutes late) I shouldn't have bothered. Jeremy was Jekyl and Hyde. In 3 seconds flat, he stops crying and smiles and flutters his eyelashes at the other women in the room...making my previous claim of a screaming baby null and void...LOL! He proceeds to lay on the floor and every time I looked at him, laughed at the top of his lungs...no reason what so ever.... till he decided he wanted to nurse.....so I cover myself, and my friend Ida announces in a very loud voice that "Hey...why are you covering up? We have all seen those before....." I almost died of embarrasment...and I don't really embarrass that easily...but it was very funny, and probably the only laugh I got all day. We ended up leaving the meeting early because Jeremy just wasn't himself....and then....he screamed all the way home.....
So I get home, and you would think I am safe now right? BUT NO! I use my cell phone to call Kendal...and guess what....It is broken!!! I can hear him just fine, but he can't hear me at all....

Oh well- what can you do but laugh right? It will be funny NEXT month.....

and so once again...I am waiting for my car to find out what the new problem is.....

CARS DRIVE ME .......

CRAZY!

Just when you think you have a good one ...something gos wrong....AND.....it is usually at a really highly inconvenient time.....like in the middle of a move.....FUN. (NOT!)

SO........Yesterday we were already having a rough day...and several other things had already happened...but we are ready to go home from church and Kendal is done work, so we stop at COSTCO to grab some lettuce. Bree and I stayed in the car while Kendal ran in, and while we are sitting there, I start to smell something kind of off and burny...I asked Bree if she smelled anything...but she didn't , so I assumed it was just me, or something off of another car passing me. THEN...Kendal comes out of the store...and stares at something on the road....I was like...."Oh Great...I ran something over....Then he asks me to back up...and I am wondering why he wants to stare at it......as it turns out, I wish that I had run something over....because there was light pink fluid all over the road....NICE. (AGAIN....NOT...) I drove the car across the parking lot, and parked it and turned it off...no way I was driving it anywhere else...So now we are left with several other problems....namely...it is Sunday, so there is no way we are going to be able to fix the car today...The second problem is Breanne has a volleyball game and she needs to get there. Jeremy is screaming by now, I have a migraine, Kendal is frustrated, and none of us have had lunch...Add to that the fact that we are in the middle of a move and can't really afford car repairs at the moment...and we had a very frustrating situation...We called first to find out if we still had free towing - which we did, and then we called Kendal's parents to get a lift...but they weren't home....Bree phoned her friend and got a ride to her game, and Kendal called our friend Paul, and he came and picked us up. Thank God for Paul....This is like-the second time now he has come and rescued us from our car...( The first time I ran out of gas-because I forgot to fill up..smart I know....) The rest of the day went ok...we went to Pauls house and Tammy fed the refugees lunch, and then we watched the football game (we lost this time...) and then we went to evening service...Paul drove us home later....(Actually he drove Kendal home twice...because we got all the way home before we realized that Kendal forgot his keys at the church and had to go back and get them.....)

So this morning, Kendal's parents picked us up at 7, and we drove Kendal to work, and I went to GM and set up an appointment to find out what is wrong with my car...and so now we wait....

Spiders Really Do Crawl out of Toilets...

Ok...I only have a couple of minutes this morning, as I am in a hurry to go somewhere...but I just had to share this so that others could be creeped out with me...no sense being freaked out on my own.....

I went into the bathroom this morning, and when I was done...I went to flush...and there was the biggest spider I have ever seen crawling around on the water......so I did what any red blooded female would do when they found out that there is a spider crawling around under their butt! I screamed! Loudly. and several times. Jeremy was amused....so was my husband when I called him quaking in fear to tell him that he had to come home and kill the spider in the toilet....um...that is I was fearful till he told me he had a little confession to make....Apparently there was a very large and freaky spider crawling around on my clean laundry this morning....It jumped out at Kendal and scared him...so to be sweet (as he puts it...) and not let the visious beast scare me, he says he squished it and put it in the toilet and flushed.....(Apparently we didn't squish it QUITE ENOUGH! ) Hey dumb head...spiders walk on top of water!!!

OK guys...get a laugh at my exspense.....

Share your freaky spider stories with me in comments...I don't want to be alone....

Looking Back...

i actually posted this on June 20th....I felt it was worth another look...Sometimes when I am having a rough day-like today, I like to remind myself of the important stuff in life, the things that give me joy..Looking back on the way God has blessed me helps me to be more positive about whatever is bothering me in the now.....

Sometimes life is kind of crazy...
Today I was thinking about how only 2 years ago, if anyone had told me that I was going to have another baby, I would have laughed at them....
Having a baby was definitely NOT in the cards for us at all. Kendal and I had been married almost ten years, and raised three teen girls before we realized that maybe we did want another baby after all...and now, I can't imagine life without Jeremy! Even all the dirty diapers, and no-sleep nights are worth while..I would do it all over again if I had the choice to make..and not only do we have Jeremy, we are actually considering another one in a year or so!!!
Life sure throws us some curve balls!
Fortunately, once in a while...they are good ones!

Jeremy's first time in the lake....

The Buffalo Days Parade....

Here is Jeremy being stabbed by a pirate....

Here are some pictures we took of the Buffalo Day Parade....We had some cool moments, but overall we were pretty disappointed...Parades just aren't what they used to be....Mostly it is just advertising now, and barely anyone really puts a lot of effort into their floats. They also don't hand out candy anymore which they used to do....but I guess it kind of puts a damper on things when a kid gets run over by a horse....The weather was pretty nice this year though...

Bree wants to join the armed forces and become a pilot,
so she wanted her picture taken with this guy.....

Rider Pride!

There are a couple of us BC imports who were busy being taught some Rider Pride this last Sunday....I have to be honest....I never even followed football until the last year...(I am ducking from the tomatoes now...) However, it is really hard to not get involved when most of Saskatchewan turns up wearing green every game, whether or not they actually show up at the game...and even if you don't follow the score, you hear it anyways! I love Saskatchewan's Rider Pride! We have some of the best fans in all of Canada! (Sorry BC!)

My daughter Bree was very thankful to be given a ticket to go with some of her friends to the Labor Day Classic, which is probably one of the most coveted games (aside from Grey Cup) It was sold out, so she has no idea how lucky she was!

Bree and Jeremy dressed for the labor Day Classic!

We even went as far as to buy Jeremy
a little Rough Riders outfit! He was sooooo cute!

TOUCHDOWN!

Oh, and by the way......for those who are living on another planet and don't know this yet....the Rough Riders kicked butt, scoring an awesome touchdown in the last seconds of the game.....i believe(correct me if I am wrong) that makes us the best in the Western Division? Rock on Riders!
