My trip to Ottawa!

Hey guys well this is Brandy About a week ago I got the amazing chance to go to Ottawa for an experience of a life time It was called Encounters Canada! I went for a week and I got to learn all about the R.C.M.P I also made some totally awesome friends I don't think In my 16 years of life I have ever met people that have treated me so well. Ok so this is how my week started out :) I had to wake up early to catch my plane so we went to the airport and I was getting a bit nervous..because I have never taken a plane before it was insane! So I got on the plane and got into this tiny plane holy moly it was so small and I kind of felt a little claustrophobic it got allot better once I sat down though, except on my way to Calgary the old man next to me kept hitting on me I couldn't believe it! it was sick! so I was like " yeah, I'm going to listen to my mp3 player now " and then I stared out the window the rest of the trip :) When I got to Calgary i was so Amazed! I have never seen something so big in my entire life! It was great and thats where I met Jade she was also going to Ottawa for Encounters Canada! we became friends very quickly seeing as how I am not very shy :P We talked and talked the whole flight! She was quite the nice person! So when we got to the Ottawa Airport we found the people who were taking us to the Terry Fox building! it was so funny but no one talked a word on the bus and there was 22 of us! I believe I was the only one talking :P everyone seemed so shy :p when we got there we each went to our dorms boys separated from girls of course and thats where I met Sam and Amanda they were my dorm buddies it was awesome bunk beds everywhere :P and we could talk to every other girl around us which was liek 50 imagine trying to go to sleep with 50 girls giggling and talking at once :P well I decided to take a quick shower and run downstairs and Amanda and Sam were playing cards at a table so I decided to join that also when I met Josh Kayla, Morgan, Chris, Susan, Josh R., Alex 1, Alex 2, and Kathleen they were the best all week! SO the first thing we did was play ice breaking games! it was hilarious! I don't think I have ever seen teenagers laugh so hard before:P they sent us to bed at 10 and everyone was already the best of friends they said there good nights everyone and passed out . The next day we went to the Parliament building and we saw so many beautiful pieces of art the whole building was practically a piece of art! first we went to the Sennet and sat there for about an hour and listened to a lady talk I have to admit it was quite boring :P well we took lots of pictures after that and we were off to the house of commons! woah It was so cool I saw Steven Harper, Ralph Goodale, and the Governor General! I was so amazed and someone even called Steven Harper a Pric :P hahah I'm sure My grandfather wouldn't have minded because before I went he told me if I saw Steven Harper I was to tell him off :P well I didn't get nearly close enough however I am happy i got to watch a question period! we also went on a tour of the building after and thats when we got to see the peace tower! woah you could see the whole city and the hull as well! ahh Quebec was beautiful to! So that took a whole day and it was so tiring we went back and all ate supper together again it was fun after supper they took some of us swimming and some of us on a walk Josh, Chris and I all went swimming! we played water polo and just swam it was one of the best nights of my life and I didn't know more were coming! Once again we were so tired when we got back but we stayed up until ten and talked again (sigh*) I miss those nights ! The next morning 7:30 sharp we got up ate breakfast and was off to watch the R.C.M.P Musical Ride, Josh Is the one that was the most excited! and he was snapping off pictures like crazy! I laughed and took a few to ;) it was fun I think It would be a great job! and after this weekend I would so Do it And I will one day! you guys just watch! the rest of the week we had the Deputy commissioner who is second in charge off all the R.C.M.P ! OI got a picture with him to that I plan on Framing! heheh yes I am so excited! the Next day we went on a tour of Ottawa and it was amazing! I saw so much The one thing I loved the most was steeple that was made entirely out of wood and stained glass windows! it is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen...I don't even have words to describe it! Friday was our last day and night we would ever share together we wanted it to come and at the same time we dreaded it :( WE woke up at 7:30 again and ate breakfast and had free time! we all headed on the bus to go skating and shopping! so all of us together decided to go skating first on the Routoe Canal it just so happens to be the biggest Canal in the world it was amazing! after that we all went to the mall and shopped out little buts off! after that we went back to the Terry Fox building and had a banquet! it was so nice They actually let us stay up all night and talk I had to leave at 4:30 in the morning and I have never been so sad to leave a place in my life even all of the boys cried :( I wrote all of them a warm fuzzy letter and they could not read it until they got on the plane all of them cried when they did read it on the plane ..:( I miss them, so much it almost hurts :( but thats ok I made about 100 friends all across Canada! crazy huh who can say they have friends all across Canada ! ME !!! muahahaha jk but I had the time of my life we all shared tears and laughter.. but the best gift all of those people gave to me was a smile ...no one there talked about eachother and everyone was friends. I learned alot from going there ..it helped me make my job decision and My self Confidence is Soring :D I loved the week I went to Encounters Canada and Those memories will definatley last forever! HECK YES! Infanite xoxo's! -~*Brandy*~-

Coffee at Krystal's

You know the commercial on tv where the moms are eating chips and they say "we should do this more often...the babies really enjoy it?" (camera pans to three sleeping babies in carseats.....
Well that was Brenda, Krystal and Robyn yesterday........

Krystal and Jeremy

lunchtime for Krystal's son Ethan

What are you lookin at.....

Baby Mozart....

Mercy Buckets and the Ethanator!
(come out from hiding Brenda....)

Kodak Moment....

Actually, they call them Hallmark moments, but with me...as you all know, it is ALL about the camera....:LOL!
Whatever you want to call it, I had one yesterday....
I was sitting on the couch and baby had been fussing and so I was sitting there holding him, and I was listening to a CD I like called Hope ( Hillsongs). I looked out the window and it was sunny but snowing.....
It was a very beautiful moment. I sat there and enjoyed the moment....(till the phone rang)
Like Jeremy's first smile...you've got to take your moments where you can get them.....

Relaxing Weekend...

To see more new pics click on this link or on the above picture! http://jllones.blogspot.com/

or..at least for us lately.....I was Talon free for most of the weekend...
Talon and I had a rough go this week, as he cried for three days straight. Poor guy was teething and had a cold and not feeling well, and so he was miserable...
By Friday I was a wreck, so I finally had my husband call my MIL and asked if they could come take him from me. I had all Friday to myself, and then we weren't feeling well Friday night, so baby Jeremy and I went and laid down in my room and fell asleep..Bree is such a sweetheart. When she came home, she was concerned for me, so she slept with Talon in the living room so that I wouldn't be woken up. As it was, I am not used to sleep anymore, and by five, both Jeremy and I were awake.
We had fun though...I was bored so we went and sat in Jer's room, and played...I dressed him....(at 5 in the morning-crazy mommy....) and he sat there on the floor staring at things and making his first chatty noises...and then he smiled at me for the first time...(and NO IT WASN'T GAS...) They grow up so fast....I will take my smiles where I can get them...even at 5am!
Sleeping must have done something good for me, even if it was only till 5 am...because I was a ball of energy all Sat...Kendal and I went for breakfast, and then I took him to work....and then I didn't want to go home....so I ended up at my friend-Krystal McNeice's house for coffee. I stayed there until 11 and then I went to the airport to pick up Brandy who was back from Ottawa. (She had a really good time, but I will let her post about that later on)
Later when Kendal got off work, we went and hung out at the Cornwall Center (because Children's Place had a really good sale-shirts for $5.99) We went and bought Jeremy, Talon, and Jenae[sp?] (my friend Tammy's unborn daughter) some clothes....and then we went to the Gap (because we really needed too [insert sarcasm here] Jeremy apparently is a typical boy though...cause he cried through the whole trip...LOL! We also went for coffee with Harold and Judy at Second Cup so that they could see their grandson...
We were just going to go home, when our friends Paul and Tammy called and asked if we wanted to do something, and so we went and hung out with them for the evening....
Sunday I had to be at church at 9.30 because we had choir in the morning, and as I was still Talon free, we actually made it on time! (Talon was with Harold and Judy) after we went for lunch with Harold and Judy and our friend Kim, to a restauraunt where my daughter Krystal works.
Last night was REALLY nice. Jeremy only woke up once, and nursed for a while, and as Talon was at him mommy's place, I actually had the first reall sleep I have had since Jeremy was born....(I forgot what sleep was like)
Talon is officially supposed to be going home to his mom's house on March 1st now...
We are really going to miss him, and hope that he still spends lots of time with us. He is such a great kid, and normally such a happy guy..Our house will definatly be much quieter though, and I am looking foreward to getting to know my son better.
Today it is -18, but I have only one baby, so I think I will try to go out and do something.!

Update

WhoHoo! The health nurse was over this morning and we weighed baby Jeremy, and he is 8 lbs and 7.5 ounces! That officially takes him off of the concern list and puts him in the 50th percentile exactly where he is supposed to be!

Talon and Gizmo!

Gizmo keeps trying to get Talon to play ball with him, and can't understand why he won't! If you look carefully there is a little red ball by Talon.
Normally Talon loves Gizmo, until this morning when Gizzy got brave enough to reach for his ball, and then Talon started to cry....
Another thing we have noticed with Giz, is that when baby Jeremy starts to cry, Gizmo gets very upset and starts to howl, and pokes me until I do something about it. however, when Talon crys he doesn't pay attention....but he does try to play with him.....

A Few Moments Respite....

This is the boys watching Sesame Street....believe it or not.....Actually....Jeremy is probably watching Talon, but Talon loves Sesame Street and watches it every morning until Elmo's world is over...It is my few minutes of respite time.....
However, this morning it didn't last for long....Talon has bronchitis, and has been generally miserable now for over a month. He has been on antibiotics, and they didn't even really seen to work.....so later this week, he will go back to the docs....
(Now I suggest if you really want some fun....that you try dragging a 6 week old and a four month old to the doctors by yourself....I highly recommend it....)
So for now, he is sitting on my lap trying to decide if it is more fun to type, or yell at me.....
By lunch time yesterday I actually thought I was going to lose it....
Both babies screamed TOGETHER in concert from about 3am until 1 pm....
Fortunately Bree had the afternoon off, and as she was less insane then me by then, kindly took Talon to her room and played with him for a while.
Today Talon is still miserable, but fortunately Jeremy is
back to his quiet little self....

More on Life with Two Babies....

You know the other day when Kendal was talking about how we have really lame conversations now??? Well, the other thing I noticed that has gone down the drain along with our conversation and my sleep....and our sex life....(sorry was that out loud...i've got to stop that....)
Is that my house looks like a complete disaster zone....
Actually...it looks ALOT like my friend Cories basement...and she is doing renovations...LOL!
....and they don't just cry....they do it both at once....while one is wanting to be nursed! LOL!
What other things have gone down the drain....
OH...little things like getting dressed before noon...
having more then five minute baths...Can anyone relate?
I am sure that i could think of other things...but I have to go now....
One of the babies is crying!!!

Brandy in Ottawa!

Wow!!!
A milestone in parenting.....
My baby went at 4.30 am this morning for her first airplane ride! Kendal got up to drive there, which I guess I could have done considering I was already up all night anyways with the boys....
She was pretty nervous, and so was I.....
Anybody who knows Brandy knows that she is extremely absent minded, and she had to change flights in Calgary...on her own....and I was very afraid that she was going to get on the wrong plane....
After all if a nine year old boy can get away with it (news) why can't my 16 year old daughter?
She will be gone till next Sat.
She went with a group called Encounters Canada...and she was able to go for free because of her native heritage....
Very cool.
She will take a series of courses over the week, and get to go to a concert. I will get her to post more info when she comes home.

We were pretty tired today though...I was on worship team this morning and I have only played guitar once since I had the baby.....That was interesting for me.... Not to sure how well I did....
We went out for lunch with our friends Nathan and Melanie for lunch at the restaurant where my daughter Krystal is working...then we came home and kind of crashed for the rest of the afternoon...at least as much as one with two babies is able to....LOL!

We are sad right now though....We missed the Bare Naked Ladies concert when they were in Regina....
Please come back soon guys so we can make your next concert.......

Life with two babies

When you haven't slept properly in weeks odd things happen. For example Robyn and I used to be able to have reasonably intelligent conversations. This was a real conversation we had the other day. We were in the car, eating Mcds and I dropped my fries. So like Homer Simpson I say:

Me: D'oh!

Robyn(not hearing me properly): No?

Me(a little louder): D'oh.

Robyn(more confused): No?

Me(quite loud now): D'oh!

Robyn(very confused now): No?

Me(practically shouting): D'oh!

Robyn(very perplexed): NO what?

Me: D'oh, Homer, D'oh

Robyn: OHHH....

Evil Echo

This is our creepy cat. Bree took this pic with her new digital cam. No it hasn't been altered. No wonder no one wants this cat. We have been trying to give her away for months now. She is a 2 year old female, fixed and rarely levitates or practices mind control. If you are interested please email Robyn.

Youth Video (If you look carefully you will see us!)

Back in Action!

Well, here I am again, after missing in action for two and a half months.....

It was really hard to get on the computer after I quit work on medical leave....I was done on the 20th of Dec. and then it was Christmas , and then New Years, and then all of a sudden I was in labor!

Sunday Jan. 7th, we had gone to our friends Brenda and Jason's house for dinner...and finally left around 11. We had just got home, when my water broke!...so it was off to the hospital...where I assumed I would go into labor...But NO! Instead, i sat in the hospital until Wed. when they induced me!

Jeremy was born four weeks early, on Jan 10th at 9.22 pm. The labor went fairly quickly-as far as labors go, and Jer was born after about 5 hours. He was 6 lbs, and ever so cute!
After that it was in and out of the hospital for the next month, because of severe jaundice and dehydration. They were also concerned as he lost more weight then he was supposed to and for a while weighed 5 lbs.

He is out now, and weighs in at a healthy 7 lbs, 2 ozs.
I am glad, because i was really getting sick of the hospital......

One funny story about my delivery.
I was in the middle of pushing, when my very wonderful OB said, "There is only one thing I ask of you....You have to name the baby after me...."

Well for some reason I can't quite fathom, I got it in my head that God was talking to me and telling me to name my baby Amos. So This is what is going on in my head..."God wants me to name my baby Amos, it's a word from God....Oh wait a minute....Amos is the doctors name... (Dr. Akimbee's first name) and it took me a couple of minutes to realize that it was actually the Dr. talking to me...so then i turn to Kendal crying and say..."His name isn't Amos, it's Jeremy.....I miss Jeremy! He died.....Kendal was like....that's nice but you should probably concentrate on pushing now hon.....LOL!

He is very cute (Jeremy that is) and we are loving him. However, I am a little worn out, as we also have Talon living with us, and I am kind of at the end of my rope. He is supposed to be going home soon...and as much as we love him, I will be glad to have some time to get aquainted with my son....and sleep would be nice too. LOL!

I am Back...sort of...
