Rough Riders Win Grey Cup!

No Kidding....this guy was not wearing a shirt.....it was -20 out....

Kent Austin's first season back as the Rough Riders Head Coach...and once again he led us to Grey Cup Victory! Needless to say...Rider Pride was pretty high in the streets of Regina...so much so that it took us 2.5 hours to drive up Albert to Victoria...(which was actually blocked off by the police because of partying in the streets...) People were celebrating all over the streets and honking their horns....and drinking everywhere.....
Considering how excited everyone was though...there was relatively little rough housing and only six people were arrested. I took some video footage of us driving through the streets....you have to see it to believe it...we took the girls as we thought they would have fun....it was crazy....
All I could think was "My dad would hate this....."

Kendal was laughing at me...he asked me if 6 years ago I could see myself living in SK with another baby...celebrating with half of Regina because we won the Grey Cup....(two years ago you wouldn't have caught me dead watching football....(LOL!)

It shouldn't happen....

My girls are at a funeral today as I write this. It is for a 14 year old boy named Sammy....He was playing basket ball and died of a heart attack in front of several of his friends.....

I remember seeing Sammy and his brother around the neighborhood when we lived on the east end....I didn't expect to be seeing his obituary this year.

It is an eye opener for my girls, and probably many of their friends...Life isn't forever and can end sooner then we expect....Teens are not invincible, and the people we love aren't always going to be around forever...Maybe walking the fence isn't such a good idea...

I wish it was a lesson they didn't have to learn, but I guess it is important...I just don't think that parents should have to outlive their children...

My heart gos out to Sammy's family today, and our prayers are with you....

Talon Turns one!

It's hard to believe...but Talon Balon turned one on Oct. 06! He is doing pretty good...he is as big as a two year old, running around now and getting into absolutely everything. He is full of energy, and a pretty happy guy....
The only negative thing for Talon this year, is that he finally made it to a pediatrician, and he has asthma quite badly, and will need to use an inhaler every day, but at least now we know why he is always getting sick...

Krystal had his birthday party at Tot's Cafe, which was nice, because then they could run around and not cause too much damage. I think he had a good time, but we couldn't drag him for anything out of the big toy truck.....he was quite ticked the couple of times we tried...

We were able to drag him out of the truck a couple of times though, so that he could play on some other toys....and so that some of the other kids could have a turn in the truck...

Bree helps Talon Balon down the slide.

I found this test on someone elses blog, and thought that I would try it for fun....It was hard though, because for some of the questions, I thought there should be a middle ground.....

Amazing Fall!

This morning when I woke up, it was -11! Normally, I wouldn't be surprised....we are in the first part of November...However, it has been absolutely beautiful, and has barely dropped below 0! In fact we have even had a couple of days where it was well into the 20s! I guess it had to happen sooner or later .....

The Pumpkin Patch!

All of the past pictures of Jeremy were taken at a farm/market Kendal and I like to shop at in the summer called the Corn Maiden Market....also known as Lincoln Gardens in Lumsden. (About 15 minutes away from Regina) All October they have a pumpkin patch set up that most Reginans with kids probably know about....considering the number of pictures I see of kids there....The pictures almost always turn out good...after all...how hard is it to get a good picture of a baby in a pumpkin patch??

At the end of the month they have a fair, and you can go to Lincoln Gardens with your younger children, and bring them through a hay bale maze, Get their faces painted, and go through a little haunted house they have set up. They also had hot dogs and pumpkin soup ( which was really yummy by the way...) by donation. Of course they also have produce to buy...

Jeremy enjoying some pumpkin soup.

This was our first attempt at getting Jeremy a face painting....it was supposed to be a pumpkin, but he didn't like to be held down, and kept trying to eat the paint...
