FrankenMarky....

Happy Freakin New Years...
This is how we welcome in the New Years
here at One of the Jones....

my BIL Mark and his wife Esther were here
over Christmas,
and were driving back to Kamloops
The story is a little hazy to me,
but they hit ice, and a fire truck hit them....
Talk about convenient...
Instant blankets and Jaws of Life..
(which by the way were required to take the roof off their  car
to get them out..)

As you can see...
Marky got a pretty bad uh....
thing.....
on his head...
They kept him in for observation...
I guess he also had a concussion

His wife has a dislocated shoulder...
and apparently both are pretty sore.
They are both so lucky to be alive.

The drugs kick in....

The drugs wear off...  :)

Fortunately they sent them back to the
Cranbrook hospital, which is where my SIL lives...
Good...because they have no car..
no money....
Mark lost his glasses
his shoe
and his shirt.
They are staying with my SIL until they get things under control..

Oh...did I mention...
He and his wife just got married this summer?

(LA shaved Marks head...)

We are really glad everyone is ok...
and we thank God for His care and protection...

and as Marky says..

"I'm alive and kicking...
Ow...that hurt..."

or

"I've had worse....
It's just a flesh wound...
Have at you..."

More Christmas at Grandma's house...

Wordless Wednesday!

This was a hotel we stayed at in Three Valley Gap
going through the Rockies in BC...
when we were on our holidays this summer.
We didn't actually intend on stopping there,
but it was 5pm and the kids were tired,
and it was cheaper then we thought it would..
we had a great view off our balcony...
The motel was really romantic,
and there was tons to do there,
however the next day it rained so we didn't get to
check out the little ghost town attached to it,
or the Enchanted Forest.
(and when I say rained...I actually mean major
storm that was throwing rocks and trees
around like basketballs...)

We are going to stay there again in a couple of years..
and take the kids through the enchanted forest...

Cookie Party...(at least that's what Jeremy calls it...)

Every year, we have the same tradition.
We have been doing it since my oldest girl was young...
We decorate cookies...
They aren't always the same cookies...
They aren't always good cookies...
Sometimes it is a crumby ginger bread house that won't stand...
but usually it is sugar cookies,
lots of colored icing..
and candy

They taste awful...
but we always have lots of fun...
For example, the year we crashed our van..
the cookies were kinda morbid..
ginger bread men...half bodies...red icing...
One of my girls, being naughty
put ta- tas on her cookie...
Mine had a tasteful bathing suit....
This years version stars Spongebob characters...

(although I thought the one looked more like a
pac man ghost...)
and there is NO WAY I am eating them...
You should see what Jeremy was doing with them....
Licking the knife comes to mind..

Gracie is too young to more then eat the
cookies and candy...
but she did it quite well..
got really dirty...
and VERY hyper...

She loves posing for pictures...and so after a while
she decided to show me what was in her mouth...

We all laughed...
so of course that meant the boy wanted to do it too...

Everyone got hyper and silly,
stayed up late,
and had to have a bath after..
So over all..I would say..
a sucesful Cookie party!  :)

There will be some very funny videos
of said cookie party coming..
so stay tuned!

Here is the first installment..
before the sugar hit.
