Not Alone...

One of the things that I love about God, is that even though he has expectations of us, we never have to walk alone.....
This morning I was reading 1 Sam. 23, and in verse 16 it said "And Saul's son Jonathon went to David at Horesh and HELPED him find strength in God."
That little verse is precious to me on so many levels. For one thing, it implies that maybe at that moment David felt weak, and needed help to find strength. It reminds me that David was just like one of us, and didn't always have the answers to everything in our lives....
It tells me that it is OK to ask for help...something that at times I have difficulty doing...I don't have to always be independent and strong...
It also implies that we have a responsibility as Christians to help our brothers and sisters when they are going through situations which are difficult for them to handle...to pray for them, and offer them a helping hand....
Sometimes, people think that when they come to God that their lives will get easier, or that they will never have any problems...but God never said that. David in this chapter was on the run from King Saul, who was trying to kill him...sounds like a trouble to me.....

but thank God, that in the body of Christ, I will never be alone...

Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
Come in, she said I'll give you shelter from the storm...

Sometimes life is kind of crazy...
Today I was thinking about how only 2 years ago, if anyone had told me that I was going to have another baby, I would have laughed at them....
Having a baby was definitely NOT in the cards for us at all. Kendal and I had been married almost ten years, and raised three teen girls before we realized that maybe we did want another baby after all...and now, I can't imagine life without Jeremy! Even all the dirty diapers, and no-sleep nights are worth while..I would do it all over again if I had the choice to make..and not only do we have Jeremy, we are actually considering another one in a year or so!!!
Life sure throws us some curve balls!
Fortunately, once in a while...they are good ones!

Fun Family Day!

Sat. morning we decided that we were going to do SOMETHING fun...our origional plan had been to go to Katepwa for the day, but the weather didn't co-operate with us, so instead Kendal, Bree, Jeremy and I headed off to Moose Jaw, and hung around there. Unfortunately Brandy couldn't come as she was supposed to be working.

We had a really good time, which was nice, because I think we were all ready for a break...except for the twenty minutes when we had to park on the side of the highway so that I could nurse Jeremy...outside of the car by the way...because for some reason he decided that nursing in the car wasn't cool....???

When we arrived in Moose Jaw, we discovered that there was actually a street fair going on...There were little kids games set up all over the street, and all of the local stores were selling stuff outside...

We went to our favorite haunt in Moosejaw...the Chocolate Moose...and had some of their Italian ice cream....Man is that stuff ever good... Here is a link to their store...If you ever head out this way...make sure you check it out! http://www.fudgefix.com/

Jeremy had to be content with laughing at the little teddy bears on the shelf behind us....

Finally we tired of looking at everything the stores were selling and headed back to the car. We decided that we were going to go on Captain Jack's River Boat Tour! We were glad we did, because it was a lot of fun.

it was 14$ for adults and 12$ for kids, and worth every penny....except that for a minute we really thought he was going to try and charge us for Jeremy...LOL!

"Captain Jack" gives a running history of the river as we cruise down it, and I was quite impressed with how much he knew.He kept us entertained with many amusing stories about his childhood on the river as well.He is quite the "showman"...Bree was nervous every time the boat was tippy...(which Kendal and I found quite funny) Apparently so did he, because the boat tipped on several of the turns far more then I know it needed too....LOL!
I have included a short video clip here for you to get the flavor of the tour.

Captain Jack gives tours from 10am to dark. It is probably a good idea to reserve your tour though, as during good weather he gets a little busy!

There are also ALOT of pics which I will post from the tour. Bree is her mothers daughter, and with a digital is actually worse, because you can take even more pictures. She has a really good eye for it though, and really loves it....

After the tour, we went for supper to this hamburger shack along the side of the river...They had a really cool little picnic area, and really good food...(or maybe I was just hungry...) We really enjoyed it there anyways. Apparently it was also very popular, because it was really busy. By the time we got home, it was around 9.30.

Robyn Screams...

This footage was also taken from the German Pavillion....What is funny though, is that if you listen at the end, the guys firing the gun took me off guard...and I actually screamed.....LOL!

Crazy Day...

Wow! Today was a bit of a nutty day...I got up at 6am to take Kendal to work, and had to have Jeremy to the Health Unit by 8 am to get his shots.....I was expecting him to be upset like last time, but instead he flirted with the nurse...and didn't make a sound for the first shot. He did however bite me to make up for it, but that's ok I guess....The second shot he cried a bit, but stopped almost right away. The nurse was enamored with him...big surprise there....He is 14 lbs 2 oz now by the way...and still in the 10 th percentile, which means he is still a little guy.

I went to my friend Brenda's for coffee after and we got talking, she told me that they are applying to this rental agency called Gabriel Housing...It is low income housing, and we have looked at it before but then rejected it despite the fact that they have some really nice houses, because we are not Metis..Brenda is Metis though, and so she dragged me along. As it turns out, because my kids are Metis we are eligable for the housing...and so I filled out the paper work. I am quite excited because you are able to choose what area you want to live in, and we have been trying to move to North Regina in Winston Noel area for some time, but just when we started to look at buying, the housing market went up drastically making it not feasible for us to buy at this time...(buying a house from the early 70s for 200 thousand does not appeal to me.....don't know why! We find out in July if we are candidates for the program...I really hope so....We need to get the girls out of this area.
We went back to Brenda's afterwards so I could get my car, race to Kendal's work to get his signature for the paperwork, race home to get my paperwork, and back to Gabriel housing before they closed. Poor baby....but he was patient.

The other thing that happened today, was someone gave us a shoulder of lamb. Yesterday it was a 30 lb fish. We don't need the food, we have a freezer full, but lately, I have been frustrated and doubting God's provision....worrying about money (Kendal quit Sears, and I lose my mat leave in Jan and am not going back to work right away) Two days after expressing my frustrations to God in prayer we received the lamb and fish, as if God was saying.."Don't I always give you everything you need?" Not only that, but without even looking for an evening job, someone offered Kendal a flexible janitorial job which won't interfere with his other job...No weekends with this job, and the guy is willing to let Kendal go for his holidays in August even though he is just starting, and we have been praying for a way to get to the North end of Regina-even if the housing market is bad...and today this came up. This is better then we could have hoped for as it gives us the opportunity to save some money for a down payment, and replace some of our furniture. The rent will also go down if I am not making as much money....and best of all, the girls will be near the school of their choice....and I get to stay home with my son, which is really important to both Kendal and I. Oh, and Kendal won't have to keep working two jobs, which has been really hard on him the last couple of years.

You would think that after all the miracles I have witnessed in my life since I have been saved, I would get it by now..(get me to tell you about my car sometime-and the instant healing I had..) God provides for his children, but NO not me. I end up like Thomas...doubting Jesus until he saw his nail struck hands. God cares for his children. Period.

.......and on my way home....I was stopped by a train....No figure. (some of you will get that reference....)

Tell me about some of the miracles you have experienced over the years!

Disturbing...

ok... I was sitting here this morning with my son watching tv...a show called between the Lions, and all of a sudden one of the characters starts talking in Arnold Swartzniggars voice....From Terminator to childrens shows? What is up with that? LOL!

BTW...Check out Talon's website...there is a very cute new post on there...

Polish Pavilion

Friday night, we did Mosaic with just Jason and Brenda (and of course our babies...)
We had fun....except that Friday is when the Pavilions start to get a little on the crazy side, as far as being crowded is concerned....It was better then other years though, and there seemed to be far less drinking.
One of the Pavilions we went to on Friday was the Polish Pavilion. They had a really good show, but it was CRAZY crowded...not good for a claustrophobic...i actually had to leave once because it was so crowded...made worse by the fact that a very heavy woman came extremly close to actually sitting on me....LOL!
