Once again...the weekend passed by in a rush...
It seems that we spend all week working and working
in eager anticipation .... and it's all gone in a heartbeat...
In our case ... hubby had to work all day Sat...
so that meant that I did the usual at home..
Watched Sat. morning cartoons with my babes..
cleaned house, and then did some photo work...
My husbands aunt and uncle were in town,
and dropped off a swing set...which we have to find time to set up,
and our cousin dropped by and introduced his van, and his girlfriend...
Finally Kendal came home...and it was a well deserved DATE NIGHT!
WHO HOO!
We went to the Crushed Grape in our favorite area of Regina..
Cathedral.
We were really excited about this...It is a wine and food bar,
and they have live music.. (although they didn't this night..)
(We will be going back for this...I love Blues..)
I had won a 25 dollar gift certificate
for some volunteer work I did over the Cathedral Arts Festival..
so that was also a great inducement to want to go...
I loved the atmosphere...Staff was great, friendly and knew their stuff...
I could tell the owner in a heartbeat...and he knew how to treat his customers..
It was busy, without that overcrowded .. sit on top of you feeling...
Hate that.
They had a huge selection of wines...which we didn't try...
We don't really drink, but it looked impressive..LOL!
Unfortunately, can't say I was really impressed with the food...
The portions were averaged priced..but very small..
and I didn't really enjoy it that much...
all the same..we will go back...
have dessert and listen to some live music...
which is really my thing anyways...
Afterwards, we walked around Cathedral...
and did our other thing...
People watching...
Creepy hey? LOL!
The night wouldn't POSSIBLY have been complete
if I hadn't whipped out my camera...LOL!
and so I went out and checked out
another location I have been meaning to look at lately...
the Skateboard park...
and this young man...
who shares the same name as my son...
was kind enough to let a strange lady with a camera...
snap some pics...
What did you do for your last date night??

With my problems we don't often go out, but we did have a dinner and movie night here at home over the weekend. :)
Now that the kids are grown and mostly out:) we have been able to go out more than we use to. Our favorite is to a movie. I think that comes from when we dated in high school as going to the movies was our usual Saturday night date back then. Doing it now brings those fun feelings again.
I can't remember our last date night, but every time we have a chance to go out, we go have a nice dinner. It's so nice to have some alone time every once in a while.
