Tired????

OK....Just to let you know how little sleep I am getting lately, and how tired I am.....
I just cleaned the bathroom...commendable.....EXCEPT...I accidently cleaned the toilet bowl with laundry stain remover......
I'm sure that will be useful..:(
My bathroom smells like clean laundry though....that's nice....!

Punjabi Pavillion

After the Irish Pavillion, we headed over to the Punjabi Pavilion. This site was new. They always have the Indian pavilion, which I love, but this was an addition..(and I could find a place to sit.) The other one is always so crowded....I always like the Indian pavilions, because I love their performances and their jewelery and clothing. I always buy a piece of ethnic jewelery in one of the pavilions, and this year I bought it from here. We also chose to eat here, as Brenda and Jason also love Indian food. We had butter chicken which is my personal favorite, samosas and chick peas. It was a pretty reasonable meal for under $10.00.

Here is a video of one of the dances....I love the dancing. Kendal and I used to have fun at his work parties in Williams Lake, as they would play Indian music and have dancing at the Christmas parties.....I wish I could dance like this!

Another Irish Dancer

So.. I haven't wrote a post in quite some time but this time I know my Grandpa Reeves is going to be reading so I got to get him caught up in what's going on. School is over in 2 weeks .. I'm really excited but before were free... Finals! Oh my I'm not really looking forward to them especially my math one which is going to be the hardest one. Anyways.. I do however get to get a recommendation. That's where I get to take away one of my tests because I have an 80 average in that class, I'm going to be recommending my English 9 test.. It's on shake spear ... which isn't my favorite =S. Anyways I also had a chance to get a Exemption in one of my classes but for that you have to only have had missed one day and I have missed a couple more than that ... maybe more than a couple but its all good Lol. Anyways theres nothing else that is really new .. Tomorrow in school we have a Fun in the Sun Day at school. Its where they set up a whole bunch of games and water things like slip and slide at school in the field hopefully its not all rainy outside... anyways I better get going... Bye.

The Irish Pavillion

You can tell by our background conversation that we are absolutely ignorant about irish dance....as you can tell by us trying to figure out what kind of dance it was....Maybe if anyone out there knows, you can tell us.....
The Irish Pavillion was the second one we went to this year. I don't know about us, but it was sure one of Jeremy's favorites. He loved the music and got very excited....that is until he exhausted himself and fell asleep sitting up......He really IS his father's son....

I really enjoy the dancing, and every year I look for the same dance teams, and they just get better every year...
The Pavillion is run by the Irish club of Regina and has been since 2003 and was apparently also a part of it before 1997 as well.... If you would like more info about the Irish Club of Regina, The link below should take you there...

Mosaic Review 2007!

Well, as promised...we will be posting some of the great entertainment which we saw at the pavilions around Regina. First for those of you who don't know what Mosaic is....a quick explanation.
It is a Regina festival held every year (40 now to be exact) which celebrates the diverse culture in this great city. There are Pavilions scattered all over Regina...this year there were 21. Tickets are only 10$ a person, and then you just pay for your food! It is great fun, and yet another example of some of the wonderful things which Regina has to offer the people who choose to make Regina home....
The first video is from the Italian Pavilion. Please be patient with the quality of the videos as some of them are from far back in the audience. I tried to get up front where possible, but it was pretty busy.

This was the first pavilion we actually went to on Thursday night. We went with our friends Jason and Brenda, and their kids Christian, Nathan and Mercy. I didn't get to see as much of Italy as I wanted to, as we were kind of running late, but we did take in two performances. We also sampled a taste of their food. Kendal had a piece of pizza (which by the way was really good) and I had sausage on a bun.

The only thing that I was disapointed about was that on the way out we realized that they had some really cool looking Italian pastries and coffees, and we didn't see it, because it looked like that side of the room was only a bar. They also had a pastry making demonstration which I would have liked to watch....Oh well...next year.....

I'm doing Good!

Wow! I'm doing good Louise! I have made almost a post a day....that's because I have so much to post about right now! Just to give you a quick update...I am going to be posting about Mosaic for the next few days. We went to Mosaic -Thursday, Friday and Sat. this year because we had the time, and there were so many pavilions to visit. They were all great, but I especially liked the Poltavia, the Laos the Chinese, and also the Caribean Pavilions. There will be videos in the next couple of days of some of the great entertainment..so keep your eyes open. For today though, I am finishing up my postings about the Cathedral Village..and so here for your viewing pleasure are some of the murals which my girls took pictures of during the day. If you put your mouse over the pics they will pop up so you can see them better....

And that concludes this years Jones' review of the 2007 Cathedral Arts Festival.....(LOL!)

oh....one more thing.....
This is a sign on the door of Groovy Mama (maternity store) in the Cathedral District! (Have a good night!)

The Cathedral Town Crier!

This guy amused the heck out of me...
He was the Regina Arts Festival "Town Crier"

(Defined as a person formerly employed by a town to proclaim announcements in the streets-or a gossip.....)

He was traveling the highways and byways of 13th ave, "proclaiming" upcoming events....very
much in the spirit of the festival....
