Calgary

Our drive to Calgary was uneventful...
(which is just the way I like it...)
Except for the drive through Brooks...
UGH........the smell lasts forever...
We got to Calgary about 6 pm,
and headed straight for the Sandman..
where we were upgraded to the executive suite..
since they weren't busy...

Jeremy was thrilled to have his own pull out bed
on the couch...
I haven't stayed in a motel for years,
so we had alot of fun..
and it was NICE!
Separate master bedroom with a king size bed,
and a flat screen,
Another tv in the living room,
fridge, microwave, sink
We were pretty happy with it.

Gracie checks herself out in the mirror,
While Jeremy checks out mom and dads king size bed...

After we were all unpacked,
we took the kids to the pool for a couple of hours...
They had a blast, and we had trouble prying them out!
(I made sure every motel we stayed in had a pool...)

After we took the kids down to Denny's

By then it was 11pm and they were pretty tired
so the sweet waitress gave Jeremy a bowl of colored fish...

Which he kept taking pictures of with Daddy's phone...
(Hey...whatever works.. :)

Gracie never made it to supper...

Jeremy thought it was funny that Gracie was sleeping in the bench
so he thought he would try...

Picture of the Day!

Day 2- BC HOLIDAY...

Jeremy says goodbye to his friend

Before we left for Calgary, we walked around the
Echodale park to see what else was there.

They also had a fishing lake, where you could
rent canoes and paddle boats..
(although we didn't)

We let the kids play in the water for a couple more hours
and then had lunch at the park,
hoping to wear them out for our drive of the day.

It really is a beautiful park, and worth visiting...

If you look carefully, you can see a deer running right in the park.

This is a giant chess board right in Medicine Hat..
Very cool..
All the pieces actually can be moved...

Unfortunately, Jeremy never got to see this,
He was sleeping.
I think he would have had fun though...

Picture of the Day!

Groves B&B

This was our room at Groves B&B
(Ivy Room)
where we spent the night...
It was a pretty nice place...
Wonderful view..outside of town.
I would recommend it for many of my aunties and uncles.
Not so much for families though..
It was clean and nice, but we kind of felt like we had to tiptoe around,
and the hosts were nice people,
but really hard to talk to...
It was really restrictive for the kids in the house..
Not really any where for them to play.
However, it was nice out, so we stayed mostly outside,
and there was some stuff for them to do out there...
However, they served a pretty fantastic breakfast the next morning...
It was almost more then I could eat,
and pretty tasty!

Jeremy playing with the trucks outside.

What a view! (morning)

They had a dog that Jeremy chased all over the place,
and played tug of war with...

One of their turkeys...

The evening view..

Jeremy riding the horse swing!

Kiddos enjoyed their first fire,
and Jeremy roasted marshmellows..
(but hated it cause they made him sticky....)

Picture of the Day...

We're Back!!!!!!

Here we are back from 15 days of fun in the sun....
Sorry, make that smoke...Lots of it..
and rain..
and wasps..
and some sun!
We had Lots of fun...took lots of pics..
which I am sure you will all get sick of seeing....
made some new friends...
and we have lots of stories...
I have also decided a couple of things..
13 days of a 15 day holiday ...is all a baby and a toddler can stand before losing their minds...
There
are actually 7 people in 7 Persons Alberta...
(We counted)
and I do
NOT want to holiday in Brooks ever...
There is a meat rendering plant there...
and it smells really
BAD. FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

So...DAY ONE.

We left Regina right on time at 6.30 am for BC...
Very impressive with a baby and a toddler..
stopped for breakfast at the McDonalds in Moosejaw..
and gave the kids a break from their hated car seats...

This is actually Potash...
I had never seen it before I moved to the Prairies
but I think it looks like snow...
Apparently so did the Japanese tourist who was climbing over the fence to
take a better look.
Hope she didn't step in it...
that stuff stinks!

This is little Gracie enjoying our lunch break at
the Alberta border...

...and Jeremy burning off energy
after several hours cooped up in a car...

Finally we reached Medicine Hat...
Our first over night stop....
and started our holidays with a visit to Echodale Regional Park....
We spent two hours at the little lake there...
and the kids had a blast!
(I was just glad to be out of the car...)

Gracie showering after the sand all went into her diaper...

All is fun and games till someone gets stung in the ear though...
We found out just how many wasps are in Medicine Hat
at the moment...
We also found out how tough our son is...
He got stung right in the ear..
and growled at it..
..
(I would have cried..those things hurt!)
