CRAZY!
Just when you think you have a good one ...something gos wrong....AND.....it is usually at a really highly inconvenient time.....like in the middle of a move.....FUN. (NOT!)
SO........Yesterday we were already having a rough day...and several other things had already happened...but we are ready to go home from church and Kendal is done work, so we stop at COSTCO to grab some lettuce. Bree and I stayed in the car while Kendal ran in, and while we are sitting there, I start to smell something kind of off and burny...I asked Bree if she smelled anything...but she didn't , so I assumed it was just me, or something off of another car passing me. THEN...Kendal comes out of the store...and stares at something on the road....I was like...."Oh Great...I ran something over....Then he asks me to back up...and I am wondering why he wants to stare at it......as it turns out, I wish that I had run something over....because there was light pink fluid all over the road....NICE. (AGAIN....NOT...) I drove the car across the parking lot, and parked it and turned it off...no way I was driving it anywhere else...So now we are left with several other problems....namely...it is Sunday, so there is no way we are going to be able to fix the car today...The second problem is Breanne has a volleyball game and she needs to get there. Jeremy is screaming by now, I have a migraine, Kendal is frustrated, and none of us have had lunch...Add to that the fact that we are in the middle of a move and can't really afford car repairs at the moment...and we had a very frustrating situation...We called first to find out if we still had free towing - which we did, and then we called Kendal's parents to get a lift...but they weren't home....Bree phoned her friend and got a ride to her game, and Kendal called our friend Paul, and he came and picked us up. Thank God for Paul....This is like-the second time now he has come and rescued us from our car...( The first time I ran out of gas-because I forgot to fill up..smart I know....) The rest of the day went ok...we went to Pauls house and Tammy fed the refugees lunch, and then we watched the football game (we lost this time...) and then we went to evening service...Paul drove us home later....(Actually he drove Kendal home twice...because we got all the way home before we realized that Kendal forgot his keys at the church and had to go back and get them.....)
So this morning, Kendal's parents picked us up at 7, and we drove Kendal to work, and I went to GM and set up an appointment to find out what is wrong with my car...and so now we wait....

Yikes! I don't like car troubles. Remember my van that broke down on a weekly basis? Luckily, my car (the neon) hasn't given me problems. At least you were parked in a parking lot when you found out about the problem. My convertible broke down while I was driving on the second busiest street in Maple Ridge, while we were there for the weekend. Luckily I have BCAA, so we didn't have to pay a tow bill. Good thing we had Monday off or we would have missed work.
Who just buys lettuce at Costco? I guess if you have a Costco in your city, that's what you do. the closest Costco to us is 3 hrs away, so we make it worth our while when we shop there. I hope you get your car fixed and it's something that's not going to cost and arm and a leg.
Our last van gave us a lot of trouble as well...all i can say is never ever get a KIA. It cost us 3000 dollars in 3 months. That is when we bought this car. We have had it for two years, and up until now, it has been trouble free....hopefully, this is a one off....
Sucks about the convertible....how many cars are you guys running right now?
As far as buying just lettuce at COSTCO...I am in that place about twice a week....and yup...it is just another grocery store to us...we do our regular shopping there...I love it~!
We have 4 vehicles insured right now. I still have my Neon and now the VW convertible. Sean drives his 96 Jimmy and his 1962 Pontiac Laurentian. The VW and the Pontiac are summer rides only. They get covered/stored for the winter. It's crazy to have so many cars...my driveway looks like a used car lot. Oh and we have the boat and the holiday trailer insured as well; we are insurance poor, but at least we're having fun! If one vehicle breaks down, we can always take the other one.
