This summer, we have made it our goal to take all
kinds of mini holidays in order to prepare our kids for our longer holiday at the
end of August...
So with that noble goal in mind,
we set off for Saskatoon to stay with Aunty Wilma, and her daughter Betty..
and do "STUFF"
(Our code word for fun for our son...)
You would think our children would appreciate this lofty goal...
but this is what we got...
this from our two year old...
"I want to stay mommy's house!"
When are we going mommy's house"
and then Gracie crying...
Jeremy had pinched her...AGAIN.
and then Gracie crying...
She HATES her car seat...
and then Gracie crying...
even though she is only 9 months old..
"he TOUCHED her..."
(I didn't realize the touch me thing started so young...)
sigh...
Other kids sleep in their car seats on long trips..
Not so my son and daughter.
They screamed all the way there....
Once we got to the zoo, we thought it would get better...
and for a while it did,
while we were lunching at the park...
My son ran like a wild man.
HOWEVER.
Once we got to the zoo...
I got this...
Do you want to go see the monkeys?
"NO"
fine...we are going anyways..
"I DON"T WANT TO SEE THE MONKEYS...."
scream, cry, tantrum.
Do you want to see the bears?
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO"
"NO BEARS".........
Look at the Lion Jeremy!
NO.
Finally, daddy and Jeremy went for a walk,
and had the "CHAT"
after that...
he quit saying NO,
but he remained sullen...
(Until we fed the goats...)
and then he went to sleep...
Good thing we went to the zoo to show Gracie a pony!
(LOL!)
The bears were the absolute highlight of our whole day...
They put on a show that was worth all the tears, and tantrums...
We watched them for at least half an hour...
Jeremy was in a better mood when he woke up...
and then he had some fun...
Gracie enjoyed her day at the zoo,
and giggled at every animal she saw...
Gracie enjoyed the train ride...
Jeremy spent most of it trying to jump off....
while screaming..
"I'm DONE NOW"!
Make sure to check out their website...
and drop by for a visit if you are ever in Saskatoon!
It is a great Forestry Park!
