My daughter, Brandy just started her own blog... Head over and check it out... Give her some bloggy love! it is.. Brilliance is in a Smile
but it isn't my fault this time... really, it isn't!
Last night, when I was taking out the garbage... I found a little "package" in the bin.... Apparently someone felt that his little life wasn't worth the effort, and tossed him out with the trash...
My son of course was thrilled...and confused... He had followed me into the yard, and when I brought in kitty, and told him where I found it, Jeremy say's "NO, mom, No kitty in the trash..." by the time I called Kendal, Jeremy was yelling in the background "Garbage daddy! Cat!!!"
I even drove to the SPCA, but they are closed at 5 pm... and I figured that by the time I was done paying for litter, food, ect... and Jeremy was done fawning it, We might just as well keep it.
Maybe it will do me a solid, and take care of a mouse we think is still kicking around our house...
It seems in pretty good shape, aside from ear mites, Drank some kitty milk, and lots of water, but it did use the kitty litter. We think it is about 8 weeks old.
It seems like a loveable little scamp, which makes me even angrier at what people are capable of.... Jeremy is in L.O.V.E. He petted it...quite carefully till he got excited and chased kitty all over the house.. Kitty got smart, and finally hid under my bed. Last night, I had it in a box in the bathroom, and Jeremy snuck in, removed kitty from the box, and brought it to me. Cat mom... (like I had asked for it...) Gracie is also in love... Today she made more progress trying to crawl to kitty then any other day so far, and she spent the whole morning squealing and laughing at it, till she finally got frustrated with it running away when she tried to hug it, and started crying...LOL!
so there you have it. Not my fault. I didn't even want a cat. They find me. They know where I live now. Maybe it will curtail Jeremy from continuing to bug me for the dog he keeps asking for...
So...What should I name it?? (I thought Lucky, but Kendal didn't like it.)
Yesterday we took another impromptu visit to Moosejaw... We had actually been planning to go to the lake, but the weather wasn't great... so instead we went to the Sask. Burrowing Owl Interpretive Center It was fun and Jeremy enjoyed the owls, and the snake Gracie LOVED the horse in the field next door... Jeremy is also probably going to be in the paper because they were having their grand opening, and Jeremy was cute, so the photographer kept taking pics of him...
Jeremy petting a Bull snake...
a Burrowing Owl
George...(or Georgette...) 37 days old....
Jeremy's owls
Autumn kissing her owl...
Our day seemed a little cursed though... Jeremy got REALLY mad at some little boy at the Owl center because the boy pushed him.. When I asked Jeremy about it, he got all red in the face (Just like daddy and grandpa..) and spouted off more sentences at once then I have ever heard him use, and finished it with "I don't want to talk about it..." Then we realized we had forgotten Gracie's soother, so we had to go buy another one... Then it poured rain... Oh... and at Cresent park.. My husband threw some teens bike because the kids was riding it through the wading pool around babies, and had been asked to stop several times, and got lippy... (Honestly, it really wasn't as bad as it sounds...) ok..well maybe it was... Kendal seemed to enjoy it way too much....
At Cresent Park
uh...I think Jeremy enjoyed his ice cream.....
and then we went to the Chocolate Moose for ice cream... and they only have a couple of tables.. so picture this. I had a white shirt on. There was a table full of people who you think would have been polite enough to move, since they weren't eating... instead of gawking at us Kendal holding Gracie... and me trying to look after Jeremy, and the chocolate ice cream I was BRILLIANT enough to get him... (What was I thinking...) so we had to try and feed Jeremy his ice cream sitting on a bench.. by the end, Kendal was covered with chocolate ice cream... and my white shirt wasn't white anymore...
Well...I guess every trip can't be perfect... can it Mark??
We haven't had a lot of great weather this year, so last weekend was the first BBQ we have had.. We had our friends Brenda and Jason over and they brought their kids... The weather was beautiful... We had steaks (which my daughter Bree had given us a month before..) and then ironically she showed up without warning... (She must have smelled them cooking...!)
Gracie is turning into Bree... (She used to fall asleep in odd places... on the dog..the cat, standing up against a garbage can in McDonalds, sitting straight up at her own b-day party... at the kitchen table....LOL...) This is the second time in two days I have caught my little one sleeping in odd places... This time face down in the middle of the floor while trying to crawl.....LOL!
