One of the things that I love about God, is that even though he has expectations of us, we never have to walk alone.....
This morning I was reading 1 Sam. 23, and in verse 16 it said "And Saul's son Jonathon went to David at Horesh and HELPED him find strength in God."
That little verse is precious to me on so many levels. For one thing, it implies that maybe at that moment David felt weak, and needed help to find strength. It reminds me that David was just like one of us, and didn't always have the answers to everything in our lives....
It tells me that it is OK to ask for help...something that at times I have difficulty doing...I don't have to always be independent and strong...
It also implies that we have a responsibility as Christians to help our brothers and sisters when they are going through situations which are difficult for them to handle...to pray for them, and offer them a helping hand....
Sometimes, people think that when they come to God that their lives will get easier, or that they will never have any problems...but God never said that. David in this chapter was on the run from King Saul, who was trying to kill him...sounds like a trouble to me.....
but thank God, that in the body of Christ, I will never be alone...
Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
Come in, she said I'll give you shelter from the storm...
